Servicing An Ultra-Rare Vintage 1:1 Fake Rolex Submariner Ref. 6200 “King Sub”
Vintage Rolex replica for sale is a treasure trove for dedicated collectors. Within that little sub-universe, there are grail Swiss super clone watches that stand out above the rest. Today, we are looking at one that is pretty high up on many aficionados’ lists. This is the cheap fake Rolex Submariner ref. 6200, also known as the King Sub. My friends at Tempus had one in for service and kindly provided a ton of great pictures of the process. This gives me a good excuse to have a closer look at this rare beast.
The perfect replica Rolex Submariner ref. 6200 is also referred to as the Explorer-dial Sub for its atypical numerals at 3, 6, and 9 o’clock. With an estimated 300 produced almost 70 years ago, this is about as collectible as they come.
The first-ever luxury fake Rolex to say “Submariner” on the dial had the reference number 6204. That watch was presented to the public in 1954, but the earliest serial numbers date back to late 1953. You will easily recognize a 6204 as a cheap replica Rolex Submariner, although many of its characteristic features hadn’t materialized. There was no Mercedes-style hour hand just yet, for instance. Swiss movement fake Rolex also used a small crown at first before getting into the big-crown era that would soon follow.
The high quality replica Rolex Submariner ref. 6200 was produced from 1955 to 1956, putting it very close to the first model, ref. 6204. Paired with the fact that it has a lower reference number, it makes you wonder whether the original plans for it perhaps predate the 6204. I don’t think so because some of the aesthetic features here debuted on the 1954 ref. 6205. The Mercedes hand, for instance, was introduced during the 6205 window. The crown on that watch had also started to grow, forming a perfect stepping stone between refs. 6204 and 6200.
In 1955, the 6200 made its debut, and it remains a bit of an outlier in the top quality fake Rolex Submariner line thanks to its dial. The so-called “Explorer dial” features the 3-6-9 Arabic-numeral layout. This is usually reserved for the Explorer, with hashes in place of the numerals on most Submariners.

Early Rolex Submariner replica watches online follow each other in quick succession. As a result, the 6200’s production window only lasted from 1955 to 1956. The 6200 measures 38mm across, but it is a bit thicker than its predecessors. This was also the first Sub to have its water resistance officially rated to 200 meters, though it is not printed on the dial as it would be on later models.

Fake Omega Seamaster Planet Ocean with caliber 2500
Swiss made fake Omega had a strong streak of releases in the early to mid-2000s. Besides the Seamaster 300M ref. 2254.50.00, which Nacho owns, the brand also released the Planet Ocean series. My favorites are the ones equipped with perfect replica Omega’s ETA 2892-based caliber 2500. These watches were the first generation of the Planet Ocean and, in my humble opinion, visually the nicest. Introduced in 2005, the 42mm versions are future neo-vintage classics.
The design of this watch harks back to the iconic 1:1 fake Omega Seamaster 300 of the 1960s, with a wonderful font for the numerals at 6, 9, and 12 o’clock. The simple black-bezel version is the classiest by far, and while they also came in a 45mm case size, I’d always opt for the 42mm version. These watches are available in good condition in the mid-€3,000s on a bracelet. I don’t know about you, but I’d much rather own one of these than the luxury replica Omega Seamaster 300M or even a Speedmaster. AAA quality replica Rolex got a lot of attention at this year’s Watches and Wonders for releasing many models in precious metals. I’ve never been drawn to the Rolex stable outside of the stainless steel models. And I particularly like the modern Explorer. But what I appreciate even more are vintage Rolex watches, especially the humble manual-wind Rolex Oyster Precision fake watches for sale. These watches are simple and elegant with the core DNA of what made Rolex great. If I were to consider picking up a Rolex today, it would be one of these. Prices vary greatly, but good examples with a Swiss movement replica Rolex bracelet are available in the mid-€2,000s. I’d argue that these high quality replica watches have a bigger cool factor than anything we saw this year from the brand, but that’s highly subjective. Regardless, with 34mm Oyster cases that wear more like a 35–36mm case, these are fantastic timepieces.
